Today I had the opportunity to share the story of how Buddy Pacer was born on Intereconomía’s Antes de que Amanezca, hosted by Guillermo ‘Willy’ Sancho Muela: where the idea came from, the name, the inspiration, our target audience, the journey so far, and what we hope for the future. Here’s a summary of our first interview.
You can listen to the full interview here; it starts at minute 17.

We’ve been working quietly for a long time, and we’re starting to see the first rays of light. Small signs that give us a lot of energy to keep moving forward on this journey of continuous learning—where every day brings a new challenge, a new chance to improve, and a constant reality check.
Recently, while listening to the podcast Así empecé by Beltrán Espinosa de los Monteros, interviewing Sergio Furio (Creditas), he said:
“What matters most is energy; without energy, a company dies.”
Every day, I find myself coming back to those words. The measure of our effort is what drives Buddy Pacer. For me, the fuel behind that energy is excitement—the clear vision of where we want to go and the daily commitment to making it real. Build and iterate. Again and again. And always keep going.
That mix of vision and execution—of dreaming and doing—is exactly what drives us.
We’re at that point in the journey where the first pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place—where vision begins to turn into reality. I really liked something Emilio Froján (Velca) said when he described a company founder as the letter W of the alphabet: a “visionary salesperson.” You need a lot of both.
