There\u2019s no need to rent equipment or pay for a course like you would with skiing or climbing. Running is simple, accessible\u2026 and yet it\u2019s hard to stick with over time. Every year, thousands of people start running for the first time. Many do it for health, to lose weight, or to reduce stress. But as days, weeks, and months go by, that initial motivation starts to fade. The result? Many end up quitting. One of the biggest barriers isn\u2019t physical or logistical. It\u2019s <strong>emotional<\/strong>. And it\u2019s called: <em>running alone<\/em>.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h2><strong>Running Alone Drains Your Motivation<\/strong><\/h2><p class=\"translation-block\">I remember a campaign that said: <em>Running alone sucks<\/em>. For me, it\u2019s absolutely true. Running alone means having to find motivation again and again, without any external support. And that isn\u2019t always easy\u2014especially when it\u2019s cold, raining, or you\u2019re tired.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">According to the <a href=\"\/en\/www.sportsshoes.com\/advice\/running-hub\/health-wellbeing\/running-report\/?srsltid=AfmBOoovuYLVapbLmQemip-qIQ0IWcw3Sfept7sZ12G-bUYYku7F9QG2\" target=\"_self\"><strong>SportsShoes Running Report 2025<sup>1<\/sup><\/strong><\/a>, the main motivations for running are reducing stress, improving mental health, and challenging yourself. But to sustain these motivations over the long term, we need support<sup>2<\/sup>.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><h2><strong>Up to 40% Don\u2019t Run Because They Have No One to Run With<\/strong><\/h2><p class=\"translation-block\">In some age groups, such as adults aged 35 to 55, <strong>up to 40%<\/strong> don\u2019t go for a run simply because they don\u2019t have someone to do it with<sup>3<\/sup>. And that doesn\u2019t just affect getting started \u2014 it also affects consistency.<\/p><p>Having a training partner changes the game. It\u2019s not the same to tell yourself \u201cI\u2019m not going out today\u201d as it is to cancel on someone you\u2019ve already made plans with.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><h2><strong>A Running Buddy Pushes You When You Need It Most<\/strong><\/h2><p class=\"translation-block\">That <em>running buddy<\/em> doesn\u2019t just help you get out the door\u2014it also pushes you to perform better. Some days you\u2019ll pull them along, and on other days they\u2019ll push you.
